On My Mind...

After a January that felt like it lasted forever, February flew by. I'm happy it's March because it finally feels like the days are getting longer, I'm starting to see green things coming up from the ground, and it's Women's History Month. While we celebrate women's accomplishments all year round, it seems like I always learn about lots of cool women and their contributions every March. On that note...

1) A compelling argument for more monuments and statues commemorating groundbreaking women.

2) I meant to share these during Black History Month, but they're just as relevant now. (And any time.) Here are 15 Black Feminist Books for Everyone and 18 Incredible Women Making Black History.

3) Did you see our new interview with Co-founder of Hearken, Jennifer Brandel? She's also the co-founder of Zebras Unite, an organization that "calls for a more ethical and inclusive movement to counter existing start-up and venture capital culture." Why zebras? Unlike unicorns, the tech-startup ideal, zebras are real.

4) Are you an introvert who struggles with some of the commonly held wisdom on getting ahead in the workplace? (I know I do.) Here's An Introvert's Road Map to Getting Out There.

5) Last, the Oscars are on Sunday! I'm looking forward to them as always, and I'm hoping to see at least one more nominated movie before the broadcast. (I'll probably watch Mudbound, because it's on Netflix and sounds terrific!)
